I have tried refereshing DHCP credentials for Domain Admin in advanced tab but no luck.
We have not installed any windows updates for last few months and no change has been made recently on server roles.
Would like to see about getting DHCP configured on a Cisco switch to auto-register the computers hostname with a MS DNS server.
I'm afraid that you're going to have to approach this from the client end.I know trying to add few Linux boxes, and can't make them appear on the DNS server. The Ubuntu boxes are NOT part of the Domain though Samba or anything.I've seen many conflicting answers on the Internet, including this site: is the registration done by the Linux box or by the DHCP server? I have one machine that still has its DNS from May and is now in a completely different ip range and vlan. Under the properties of the scope I have - Always dynamically update DNS A and PTR records checked and Discard A and PTR records when lease expires. We have mixture of Windows server 20 in our enviornment, Our DHCP has VLANs and from last few weeks windows 7 clients computer name entries are not populating in DNS servers.
